Documenting The Dentally Stand at the London Dentistry Show: ExCeL London

Dentally branding shot by event photographer excel london

Exhibiting at a major industry trade show requires more than just a striking stand design; it demands dynamic corporate event photography that captures the energy, scale, and human connection of the event. Recently, I spent an energetic Saturday at the ExCeL London delivering corporate photography for Dentally at the London Dentistry Show.

As a fast-paced software brand, Dentally needed a comprehensive suite of imagery that reflected their dynamic presence in the dental tech space while highlighting the personal interactions driving their success.

Capturing the Brief: Product, Plushies, and Insightful Talks

The brief for the day was varied and fast-moving, requiring a tailored approach to event photography that blended commercial awareness with authentic documentary storytelling.

  • Customer Engagement: The primary focus was on capturing genuine moments of the Dentally team walking customers through the platform, demonstrating software features, and answering questions in real time.

  • Social Media Highlights: To boost social engagement, the team introduced their popular cloud plushy, prompting plenty of fun, lighthearted interactions with visitors stopping by the stand.

  • The 'Calm by Design' Talk: I also stepped away from the main stand to provide professional corporate event photography coverage for the highly anticipated 'Calm by Design' talk hosted by Dr Mide Ojo and Dr Lochan Sidhu, capturing both the speakers on stage and the engaged audience reactions.

A Documentary Eye for the Unscripted Moments

While hitting the commercial brief is essential, bringing a documentary perspective to corporate photography shapes how I approach busy trade show environments. The standout moments often happen in the margins. It is the spontaneous laugh between a team member and a clinic owner, the concentrated look during a software walkthrough, or the welcoming gesture as a new delegate approaches the desk.

By observing rather than staging, my goal with event photography is to capture the genuine atmosphere of the stand. These unscripted interactions build trust and warmth, giving the brand library imagery that feels approachable and real.

Navigating the ExCeL: Fast Glass and Unobtrusive Coverage

Executing high-quality corporate event photography in a massive conference venue like the ExCeL presents distinct logistical and technical challenges. Exhibition halls are vast, lighting can be unpredictable, and stands are constantly in motion.

To deliver on this brief without disrupting the natural workflow of the team, I relied on a robust setup of professional fast glass. Utilizing wide-angle lenses allowed me to capture the impressive scale of the stand and the buzzing exhibition floor, while longer focal lengths enabled me to shoot candid interactions from a distance. This approach ensured seamless corporate photography coverage across the space without ever stepping into the personal working zone of the Dentally team or interrupting a client demonstration.

Real-Time Delivery and Rapid Turnaround

In the fast-moving tech sector, high-impact event photography loses momentum if the imagery sits on a hard drive for weeks. Modern corporate event photography needs to move at the speed of live marketing.

For this project, I provided fully edited selects delivered in real time throughout the Saturday, allowing the marketing team to share live updates across social media while the show was actively underway. To round out the workflow, the full gallery was edited and delivered by Monday morning. This rapid turnaround matched the momentum of the event, keeping the social buzz alive and ready for the team to use as soon as the working week began.

If you are exhibiting at a major venue like the ExCeL and need professional corporate event photography or tailored corporate photography that balances commercial goals with authentic storytelling, get in touch to discuss your next project.
